Attack’s Schemitsch signs with Panthers

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced today that the Panthers have signed defenseman Thomas Schemitsch to a three-year entry level contract. Schemitsch has been assigned to Florida’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL).

The 19-year old Schemitsch recorded 31 points (9-22-31) in 51 games during the 2015-16 season with the Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League and registered four assists in six playoff games.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound native of Thornhill, Ontario, recorded 97 points (29-68-97) in 182 games with Owen Sound (2013-16) and was originally selected by the Panthers in the third round (88th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
