Beraldo and Supryka Commit to Petes
Peterborough, Ont. – At a press conference at St. Louis Bar & Grill on Monday afternoon, Petes General Manager Mike Oke announced that the team has signed picks from the 2017 and 2016 OHL Priority Selections – including Cameron Supryka and Adrien Beraldo – to standard player agreements.
Supryka, a 2001-born defenceman from Belleville, was selected by the Petes in the third round, 60th overall in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection. In the 2016-17 season, he recorded 5 goals, 23 assists, 28 points and 34 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Minor Midget AAA Quinte Red Devils. Supryka led all Quinte defencemen in points, and won silver with Team OMHA Black in the 2017 OHL Gold Cup.
Beraldo, a 2000-born defenceman from Stoney Creek, was selected by the Petes in the fifth round, 88th overall in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection. He played 43 games with the GOJHL’s Ancaster Avalanche in the 2016-17 season, tallying 3 goals, 17 assists, 20 assists and 53 penalty minutes. Beraldo was selected to participate in the GOJHL 2016-17 Top Prospects game.
“It gives me a great deal of pleasure to announce that Cameron and Adrien have committed to playing in the OHL for the Petes,” added Oke. “Each of these prospects possesses a high degree of skill, work ethic, and respect for the game, and should be valuable contributors for the Petes for several years.”
Fans can meet Cameron, Adrien and other prospects at the Petes’ 2017 Training Camp in late August, which will include three exhibition games as part of a six-team HarborCenter OHL Showcase to take place from September 1 to 3 in Buffalo. The Petes will host one home game on Thursday, September 14 at 7:05pm against the Oshawa Generals.
