SARNIA, ON – General Manager, Nick Sinclair announced today that the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club has agreed to terms on a Standard Player Agreement and Education Package with 2017 third round pick, Brayden Guy. Guy was selected with the Sting’s first of three picks in the third round; 45th overall.

The 6’00”, 181 lb power forward captained the Brampton 45’s to a 27-6-3 record last season in the OMHA South Central AAA division. The team would go on to finish second in the OMHA Minor Midget AAA Championship; falling 5-3 to the Whitby Wildcats in the finals.

In 34 contests with the 45’s, Guy posted 12 goals and 20 assists for a total of 32 points. The left-winger added 2 goals and an assist in four OHL Cup tournament games.

Alongside fellow Sting prospects Colton Kammerer and Ethan Langevin, Guy will represent Team OMHA Black at the Gold Cup taking place in Kitchener this weekend.

Sinclair comments on today’s signing, “Brayden is the type of player that exudes character and compete. Those characteristics enabled him to be relied upon as a leader with the 45’s last season and throughout his minor hockey years.”

Sinclair adds, “He’s a big power forward with good hands and a tremendous drive to get better every day. This excites us as we look forward to working with Brayden on his transition into the OHL and development as a player.”
