Chicago, IL – The Chicago Blackhawks announced via Twitter on Tuesday that they’ve signed Hamilton Bulldogs forward MacKenzie Entwistle to a three-year entry level NHL contract.

The 19-year-old from Georgetown, Ont. helped lead the Bulldogs to an OHL Championship last spring, following up a 38-point (13-25–38) regular season over 49 games with 17 points (10-7–17) over 21 playoff games.

In addition to his 84 points (35-49–84) over 172 career OHL regular season games, Entwistle has represented Canada on three occasions including the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, the 2016 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament and the 2017 IIHF World Under-18 Hockey Championship where he recorded seven points (4-3–7) over five games.

The Blackhawks acquired the rights to Entwistle over the summer in a trade that saw veteran winger Marian Hossa dealt to the Arizona Coyotes, who originally selected Entwistle in the third round (69th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft.

The Toronto Marlboros Minor Midget graduate was Hamilton’s second round (40th overall) pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
