Canada's National Junior Team equipped with 26 CHL players emerged victorious in the Canada-Russia Challenge on Tuesday night in Halifax.

The Canadians skated to a 4-2 win in regulation time giving both teams two wins in the series before playing a single overtime period to determine the series-winner.

Ryan Strome (Niagara IceDogs) scored at 3:20 of the overtime period to lift Canada to the win on a goal assisted by Xavier Ouellet (Blainville-Boisbriand Armada) and Charles Hudon (Chicoutimi Sagueneens).

Ty Rattie (Portland Winterhawks) scored twice and added an assist for Canada during regulation time where Canada fell behind twice in the contest.

Russia opened the scoring late in the first period before Lucas Lessio (Oshawa Generals) tied the score.

The Russians regained the lead early in the second period before Rattie's two goals put Canada on top.

Jonathan Huberdeau (Saint John Sea Dogs) buried a third period goal and also had two assists in the game.

Malcolm Subban (Belleville Bulls) made 26 saves to earn his second win of the series.

The four-game exhibition series was played to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1972 Summit Series while serving as a key part of the evaluation process for the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship which will be played this season in Russia.
