Emmett Sproule commits to Otters

Erie, Pennsylvania – Erie Otters General Manager Dave Brown announced today that Emmett Sproule, team’s first round selection in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, has committed to the team and agreed to an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement.

“The Otters family is excited to add a player of Emmett Sproule’s caliber to our organization,” General Manager Dave Brown said. “He plays with great skill and shows high on-ice instincts, which were on display this past weekend at our development camp. Emmett demonstrates great character on and off the ice, and we’re thrilled to have him join us.”

Sproule, taken 21st overall by the Otters in the first round of the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, stands at 5’8.5” tall, and weighs in at 135-pounds. The Collingwood, Ontario native spent the 2016-17 season with the Grey-Bruce Highlanders appearing in 33 games, recording 14 goals and 25 points.
