Generals’ Krastenbergs to represent Latvia at U20 World Championship in France

Oshawa, ON – Oshawa Generals forward Renars Krastenbergs will travel to France this week to suit up with Team Latvia at the U20 World Junior Championship qualifying tournament.

Latvia was relegated from the U20 World Junior Championship tournament last year, sending them to play this year in the Division I tournament in Courchevel and Meribel, France. Running from December 10th-16th, Latvia will be in Group A with Austria, France, Germany, Hungary and Kazakhstan. Winner of each Group A and Group B will return to the U20 World Junior Championship for the 2019 tournament in Vancouver, BC.

Krastenbergs represented Latvia at the 2017 U20 World Junior Championships earning player of the game honours against Canada and finishing the tournament with three goals and one assist for four points in six games.

The 18-year-old from Jelgava, Latvia has 16 points (9-7–16) in 27 games with the Generals this season.
