IceDogs name Ted Dent Associate Coach

St. Catharines, ON – The Niagara IceDogs announced Wednesday that Ted Dent has been added to the coaching staff as an associate coach.

Dent was previously the head coach of the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs for the past six seasons, the top affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. Prior to being named head coach, Dent served as an assistant for the Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate for five seasons. He also previously held the role of Video Coordinator for the Washington Capitals from 1999-2004.

Over his 11 years with the Blackhawks organization, Dent played a huge role in the development of many players who moved on to win multiple Stanley Cups with Chicago including such names as Bryan Bickell, Corey Crawford and Andrew Shaw. A total of 22 former IceHogs have their names engraved on the Stanley Cup after playing under Dent in Rockford where he compiled an overall record of 223-179-33-21 as the franchise’s all-time leader in games coached (456).
