Isaac Walker commits to Steelheads


Mississauga, Ont. – The Mississauga Steelheads announced Saturday that they’ve┬áreceived a commitment from 17-year-old defenceman Isaac Walker, the club’s ninth round (168th overall) pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

A native of London, Ont., Walker spent the 2016-17 season with the London Nationals Jr. B club, recording eight assists and 18 penalty minutes in 36 games. He helped the Nats win a GOJHL Western Conference title en route to their second Sutherland Cup Final appearance in as many years with three assists over 25 playoff contests.

A 6-foot-1, 185Ib. left-handed shooting defenceman, Walker is a graduate of the London Jr. Knights Minor Midget program where he registered two goals, 12 assists and 14 points in 48 games during the 2015-16 season.
