Luca Del Bel Belluz commits to Steelheads

Mississauga, ON – The Mississauga Steelheads announced today that the hockey club signed their third-round pick (51st overall) from the 2019 OHL Priority Selection, Luca Del Bel Belluz.

Del Bel Belluz, 15, appeared in 30 games with the Toronto Red Wings (GTHL) during the 2018-2019 season and registered 32 points (20 goals, 12 assists). Over seven OHL Cup games he recorded 8 points (6 goals, 2 assists) supporting his team to a second-place finish. The Woodbridge, Ont. native is described as a solid two-way centreman that is strong in the face-off circle and plays with pace at both ends of the ice. He will be representing the GTHL at the 2019 OHL Gold Cup in Kitchener, Ontario from May 2nd to 5th.

Head Coach and General Manager James Richmond commented on the most recent signing. “We are excited to have Luca and his family join the Steelheads family. Luca has exceptional puck skills and sees the ice very well. He plays the game up and down the middle of the ice with pace. We look forward to seeing Luca in the Steelheads Blue and White very soon.”
