The London Knights are a win away from the OHL championship after taking game three of the Rogers Western Conference championship 5-2 over the Kitchener Rangers.
Jared Knight got London on the board in a hurry at just 1:21 of the first period. Tyler Ferry scored 10 minutes later and that ended Gibson's period. With Franky Palazzese in the net the Rangers cut the lead in half with Tyler Randell's seventh goal of the playoffs.
Gibson was back in net to start the second period but two goals from Olli Maatta just 22 seconds apart would end Gibson's night for good. He allowed four goals on 29 shots. Eric Ming would make it 4-2 with a pretty goal at 13:33 of the second.
That was as close as the Rangers would make it. Ryan Rupert scored the lone goal of the third, an empty net goal to make the final 5-2. Watch the highlights
