Mason Millman commits to Spirit

Saginaw Spirit

SAGINAW, Mich. – Saginaw Spirit General Manager Dave Drinkill announced Wednesday the signing of 2017 seventh round pick (124th overall) Mason Millman to a Standard Player Agreement and Education Package.

Millman, 16, is a native of London, Ontario and was playing this season with the St. Thomas Stars in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (Jr. B).

The 6’1, 170-pound defenseman is third on his team in scoring amongst Defenseman, posting six goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 33 games this season.

Millman is a graduate of the London Jr. Knights Minor Midget AAA program where he played last season with 2017 2nd round pick Aidan Prueter.

Millman participated in the 2017 OHL Cup presented by Under Armor. The top-ranked Jr. Knights were upset in the semi-final by the eventual champion Mississauga Reps, but Millman posted a goal and two assists in six games.

Millman is set to make his OHL debut with the Saginaw Spirit on Wednesday night at the Essar Centre when the Spirit face the Soo Greyhounds.
