Kitchener, ON – The Kitchener Rangers announced today that forward Michael Petizian has committed to an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement with the Club.

The fifth-round, 92nd overall choice in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection was a member of the OHL Cup champion Mississauga Reps during the 2016-17 season, registering 13 goals and 30 points in 33 games played. He proceeded to earn tournament MVP honours at the 2017 OHL Cup, leading all players with five goals, eight assists and 13 points.

Michael attended Rangers’ Spring Camp in April, and was a member of the gold-medal winning Team GTHL Red at the 2017 OHL Gold Cup earlier this month in Kitchener.  He finished the weekend with two goals and three points in five tournament games played.

“Michael had a great season last year and was a big reason the Mississauga Reps were able to win the OHL Cup” said Rangers’ general manager Mike McKenzie. “His compete level is off the charts and he has very good offensive instincts that make him a threat every time he is on the ice.”

“We’re happy to welcome Michael and his family to the Rangers and look forward to seeing him develop as a player and person.”
