Milestone Moments: Dec. 15/17


A pair of rookie forwards in Luke Drewitt (Kingston Frontenacs) and Kurtis Evans (North Bay Battalion) both scored their first career OHL goal on Friday. Here’s a closer look at those milestone moments:


Playing in just his┬ásecond OHL game, rookie winger Luke Drewitt scored his first career OHL goal on Friday in Guelph. The 16-year-old snapped a shot past a screened Anthony Popovich from down the right wing 7:33 into the second period as Tyler Burnie gathered an assist on the goal. Drewitt, who was Kingston’s fifth round pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, has spent the season with the London┬áNationals Jr. B club.


Rookie forward Kurtis Evans finished off an odd-man rush on Friday in Niagara to score his first career OHL goal. The 16-year-old Evans found the back of the net on one of Luke Burghardt’s three assists on the night as the Troops took a 6-3 road win. A native of Uxbridge, Ont., Evans has played in 23 games with the Battalion this season after being a third round pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.
