Milestone Moments: Dec. 3/17


Mississauga Steelheads rookie defenceman Merrick Rippon picked up his first career OHL goal on Sunday, wristing a point shot past Hamilton Bulldogs goaltender Kaden Fulcher. Rippon’s goal came 12:18 into the third period as the Steelheads came up short on the road in Hamilton, losing the game 5-3. A 17-year-old from Ottawa, Ont., Rippon was acquired by Mississauga prior to the start of the season after being a second round pick of the Kitchener Rangers in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.
