Milestone Moments: Jan. 1/18
A pair of OHL competitors rang in the New Year with milestone accomplishments as Oshawa Generals goaltender Kyle Keyser earned his first shutout and London Knights forward Dalton Duhart scored his first OHL goal. Here’s a closer look at those events from Monday.
KYLE KEYSER (OSHAWA GENERALS):
Third-year goaltender Kyle Keyser of the Oshawa Generals got off on the right foot in 2018, turning aside 38 shots to post his first OHL shutout in a 5-0 win over the North Bay Battalion on Monday. Having battled through injuries this season, Keyser recently returned to post a 4-1-0-0 record, a 2.24 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage in the month of December. The 18-year-old from Coral Springs, Fla. signed an entry-level contract with the Boston Bruins earlier this season. This season he’s 12-6-1-0 with a 2.83 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage in 22 games.
DALTON DUHART (LONDON KNIGHTS):
Rookie forward Dalton Duhart of the London Knights struck for his first career OHL goal on Monday in a 4-1 win over the Sarnia Sting. Overage teammate Tyler Rollo sped into the offensive zone and fed Duhart a pass through the slot and the 16-year-old provided the finish 4:36 into the third period. A 16-year-old native of Grand Blanc, Mich., Duhart was London’s third round pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection from the Detroit Belle Tire U16 program.
