Milestone Moments: Jan. 17/18

Overage netminder Mario Culina earned his first career OHL shutout on Wednesday, backstopping the Kitchener Rangers to a 6-0 road win over the Niagara IceDogs. Culina turned aside 34 shots as the Midwest-leading Rangers improved to 28-14-2-0, putting a stop to Niagara’s three-game winning streak. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. native is in his third OHL season and is off to a 3-0-0-0 start in a Rangers uniform since being acquired this past month. He won a Mastercard Memorial Cup title with the Windsor Spitfires last spring.
