Milestone Moments: Jan. 5/18

Eighteen year-old defenceman Ryan Martin scored his first career OHL goal in Saginaw on Friday. Martin displayed skill and patience, handling the puck through the middle before snapping a wrister past goaltender Evan Cormier 11:06 into the second period of a 4-3 overtime loss. Martin’s first full OHL campaign has been an impressive one, including a goal, nine assists and 10 points in 39 games including a team-leading plus-18 rating. The London, Ont. native was Erie’s fifth round pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection from the London Jr. Knights Minor Midgets.
