Oshawa, ON – Vice President and General Manager Roger Hunt announced Thursday that 2017 first round (15th overall) selection Mitchell Brewer has committed to the Oshawa Generals.

The Waterdown, ON native was drafted out of the Halton Hurricanes Minor Midget AAA program. Brewer suited up for 31 games this past season tallying four goals and 11 assists along with 36 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-11, 189-pound defenceman finished out his season by winning a Buckland Cup title with the Georgetown Raiders Jr. A club.

“We are extremely excited to have Mitchell committed and are looking forward to seeing him at training camp in August,” said Hunt. “I’m a real believer in recruiting winners, and Mitchell missed our orientation camp as he was participating in the OJHL finals with Georgetown where he won a championship.

“It is not easy to win and as many players you can have that have paid the ultimate price to be a champion, is extremely important to us. Winning will only make Mitchell hungrier to achieve success when he joins our organization.”
