PETERBOROUGH 7 – NORTH BAY 3
Pavel Gogolev (3, 4) and Adam Timleck (3, 4) both scored twice while Florida Panthers prospect Jonathan Ang chipped in with three assists as the Peterborough Petes took a Thanksgiving Monday 7-3 victory in North Bay. Detroit Red Wings prospect Zach Gallant (3) had a goal and two assists while Semyon Der-Arguchintsev (2) and Nikita Korostelev (2) both had a goal and an assist. Rookie goaltender Hunter Jones made 35 saves in his OHL debut to get the win. The 4-2-0-1 Petes hand the Battalion their third straight loss as Justin Brazeau (1), Cam Dineen (5) and Andy Baker (1) scored for the boys in green. The Troops outshot the Petes 38-31 in the loss.
SARNIA 6 – HAMILTON 5 – OT
The Hamilton Bulldogs made a game of things despite falling behind 4-0 in the opening frame. Isaac Nurse (3, 4) scored twice as the Dogs clawed back to knot the score at five, only to fall in overtime on a winning goal by Calgary Flames prospect Adam Ruzicka (7). The gritty game included 11 power plays between the two clubs as Sarnia went 2-for-3 on the man advantage and outshot the Bulldogs 46-40. Ruzicka, Brady Hinz (4) and Ryan McGregor (2) all had a goal and an assist for the Sting while Franco Sproviero finished the afternoon with three assists. Anthony Salinitri (2), Jordan Kyrou (3) and Sean Josling (1) also scored for Sarnia while Justin Fazio made 35 saves to record his 60th career OHL win. Brandon Saigeon (3), Connor Roberts (1) and Justin Lemcke (1) had other goals for the Bulldogs who now sit at 2-1-1-2 on the season. The Sting have won five straight and lead the West Division with a record of 6-1-0-0.
KITCHENER 4 – OWEN SOUND 1
Anthony Dumont-Bouchard provided the key saves and the Rangers buried their chances in a 4-1 win over the visiting Owen Sound Attack. Greg Meireles (1), Joseph Garreffa (4), Jake Henderson (4) and Riley Damiani (4) all had goals as the Blueshirts improved to a Midwest Division-leading 5-2-1-0 on the season. Sean Durzi (2) scored Owen Sound’s lone goal on the power play as the Bears lost despite outshooting the Rangers 30-26. The Attack now hold a 3-1-0-2 record.
