Nico Daws commits to Storm
Guelph Storm

Guelph, Ont. – The Guelph Storm Hockey Club is pleased to announce the signing of goaltender Nico Daws, the team’s seventh-round selection, 122nd overall, in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

The six-foot-five, 205-pound goaltender spent his minor midget season with the Burlington Eagles Minor Midget AAA team.

The Burlington native began this season as the starter for the Toronto Marlboros Midget AAA team, where he has excelled, backstopping the team to third in the league standings heading into Christmas.

“We are very pleased to announce that Nico Daws has signed a Standard Player Agreement with the Storm,” General Manager Mike Kelly said. “We were excited to select Nico in last year’s OHL Priority Selection, and since then we have been very impressed with his development playing for the Toronto Marlboros Major Midget team.”

“We would like to thank the Burlington Eagles and the Toronto Marlies organizations, for their significant roles in developing Nico into an OHL caliber goalie,” Kelly continued. “We look forward to having Nico and his family, as part of the Storm organization.”

Nico will join the Storm at the 2017 Training Camp in August.
