The Ontario Hockey League is deeply saddened by the loss of Liam Kirkwood who passed away on Saturday April 7th at his Sudbury, ON, residence after a long battle with cancer.

Liam was drafted by the Kingston Frontenacs Hockey Club in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection from his hometown of Sudbury, where he played with the Sudbury Nickel Capitals. Our thoughts and prayers are with Liam's family and friends during this very difficult time.

Funeral Mass will take place at Christ the King Church, 30 Beech St, Sudbury on Thursday April 12th at 10 a.m.

Donations to the Sick Kids Hospital, Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer or Pediatrics Oncology Group of Ontario would be appreciated.
