OHL News – Radio Edition for Dec 15/17
OHL News – Radio Edition with host Terry Doyle and presented by Bauer continues for the 2017-18 regular season bringing fans insight from feature guests as well as news and notes from around the league each and every week over the airwaves.
This week’s segment features the Ottawa 67’s with play-by-play voice Kenny Walls providing an overview of the team’s first half and a preview of Sunday’s outdoor game against the Gatineau Olympiques.
Sunday’s historic outdoor contest follows the NHL’s 100 Classic game to be played Saturday between the Montreal Canadiens and the Ottawa Senators at TD Place. It will be the third time an OHL game will take place outdoors following a double-header at Comerica Park in Detroit back in 2013 that featured the Saginaw Spirit and Windsor Spitfires along with the Plymouth Whalers and London Knights. This will also be the first regular season battle between OHL and QMJHL clubs since the cross-river rivals met in 2002.
The 67’s carry a record of 15-15-1-2 into Sunday’s game and Walls chats with Doyle about the club’s consistent effort, some offensive stars on forward, a promising blue line, and goaltenders who continue to improve. He also chats about the buzz around the city surrounding the outdoor festivities and the Ottawa and Gatineau rivalry with what fans can expect on Sunday.
