OHL News – Radio Edition for Jan 5/18

OHL News – Radio Edition with host Terry Doyle and presented by Bauer continues for the 2017-18 regular season bringing fans insight from feature guests as well as news and notes from around the league each and every week over the airwaves.

This week’s segment features the Saginaw Spirit with play-by-play voice Joey Battaino who recaps the team’s first half and how the club has rebounded from a tough start.

After producing just three wins in September and October, the Spirit gained momentum in November collecting nine victories followed by five pre-Christmas wins in December.  The club has since won three-straight following the holiday break to close out the 2017 calendar year and enter weekend action with a 20-13-3-0 record which is tied for third in the West Division standings.

Battaino chats with Doyle about how the club has blended youth with experience receiving consistently strong efforts from overagers Mason Kohn and Evan Cormier.  He talks about first year Spirit head coach Troy Smith and how sticking to the process has paid off in developing this year’s group, and also highlights some of the club’s recent work in the Saginaw community this season.
