OHL News – Radio Edition with host Terry Doyle and presented by Warrior Hockey returns for the 2016-17 regular season bringing fans insight from feature guests as well as news and notes from around the league each and every week over the airwaves.
This week’s segment features a closer look at the Flint Firebirds who enter weekend action winners in seven of their last 10 games as they look to clinch a berth in the Western Conference playoffs for the first time in franchise history.
Through 60 games, the Firebirds carry a 31-24-1-4 record in seventh place and host a pair of weekend games against the Sudbury Wolves Friday and Oshawa Generals on Saturday. The club boasts a pair of Top-10 scorers including Michigan native Ryan Moore with 81 points in 60 games and Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Kole Sherwood with 75 points in 52 games.
Firebirds play-by-play voice Dominic Hennig chats with Doyle about the club’s quest for the post-season and strong play of late dueling for playoff position with the Sarnia Sting and chasing the Kitchener Rangers.
