OHL News – Radio Edition with host Terry Doyle and presented by Bauer continues for the 2017-18 regular season bringing fans insight from feature guests as well as news and notes from around the league each and every week over the airwaves.
This week’s segment features Mississauga Steelheads Owen Tippett and Nicolas Hague who were also chosen to represent Team OHL at the 2017 CIBC Canada Russia Series.
Tippett, an 18-year-old from Peterborough, Ont., returned to the OHL this week after beginning the season in the NHL with the Florida Panthers where he played seven games. The 10th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft scored 44 goals and 31 assists for 75 points in 60 games last season. Hague, an 18-year-old from Kitchener, Ont., was chosen in the second round by the Vegas Golden Knights and enters the weekend with 16 points through 17 games for the surging Steelheads who have collected 11 of a possible 12 points over the last two weeks.
Tippett chats with Doyle about his experiences in Florida, his return to the OHL, and his goal of representing Canada at the World Junior Championship. Hague also talks about the Canada Russia competition and the Steelheads outlook as of late since rebounding from a slow start to the 2017-18 campaign.
