OHL News – Radio Edition with host Terry Doyle and presented by Warrior Hockey returns for the 2017-18 regular season bringing fans insight from feature guests as well as news and notes from around the league each and every week over the airwaves.
This week’s segment features Florida Panthers prospect Adam Mascherin of the Kitchener Rangers who finished the 2016-17 regular season third in OHL scoring with 100 points including 35 goals and 65 assists in 65 games.
The 19-year-old from Maple, Ont., joined the Rangers back in 2014 after being chosen second overall in the Priority Selection. Two years later he was a second round pick of the Panthers in the 2016 NHL Draft. The power forward enters #OHLOpeningWeek without seeing any pre-season action following his recovery from off-season shoulder surgery.
Mascherin chats with Doyle about his excitement entering the new season, how time flies from his days as a rookie to a fourth-year veteran, the expectations of success in Kitchener, and dealing with injury. The Rangers open the season at home Friday night against the Flint Firebirds before travelling to Sarnia to face the Sting on Saturday.
