201 OHL Players Attend NHL Development Camps


201 past and present OHL players received invitations to NHL Development Camps across the continent this past month.

A total of 147 past or present OHL players that were either drafted or signed joined 54 free agent invitees in attending the camps, many of which included comprehensive on and off-ice elements in the local community as players got a feel for their new surroundings.

The Toronto Maple Leafs led the way with 19 OHL representatives attending camp while the Detroit Red Wings (14), Tampa Bay Lightning (12), New Jersey Devils (11), Vancouver Canucks (11) and Arizona Coyotes (10) also had attendees in the double-digits.

All 20 OHL clubs featured past graduates and present players in attendance at camps with the London Knights leading the way with 19 followed by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds with 16, the Erie Otters and Windsor Spitfires with 15 and the Owen Sound Attack with 14.

Five current OHLers including Sean Durzi (Owen Sound Attack), Mac Hollowell (Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds), Kyle Keyser (Oshawa Generals), Nikita Korostelev (Peterborough Petes) and Luke Kutkevicius (Hamilton Bulldogs) attended multiple camps. Durzi skated with both the Florida Panthers and the Toronto Maple Leafs, Hollowell attended camp with both the Carolina Hurricanes and the Maple Leafs, Keyser suited up with both the Buffalo Sabres and the Chicago Blackhawks, Korostelev attended with both the Anaheim Ducks and the Maple Leafs and Kutkevicius participated with both the Columbus Blue Jackets and Detroit Red Wings.

There was at least one OHL player or graduate present at Development Camps for 30 of the NHL’s 31 clubs with the Washington Capitals as the lone exception.
