#OHLOpeningWeek Launch: Facebook Live Q & A

It’s #OHLOpeningWeek as action gets underway across the Ontario Hockey League Thursday night!

Prior to puck drop OHL Commissioner David Branch sat down to share his thoughts on the upcoming year and answer questions from fans tuning in at Facebook.com/OHLHockey.

Topics of conversation included a look back at the reigning Mastercard Memorial Cup champion Windsor Spitfires and OHL champion Erie Otters, then a look ahead to some teams to watch for 2017-18.  Thoughts on the number of new coaches in the league this season were also shared, as well as CHL initiatives for the 100th celebration of the Mastercard Memorial Cup, other events on the national calendar, the OHL Scholarship Program, alumni news, NHL Draft highlights, player environment, and development at the minor midget and midget levels.

Areas of interest from fans included rule changes and process, divisional alignment, league expansion, growth in the United States, minor hockey development, player movement and the trading of draft picks, NHL Draft age of eligibility, and the league’s video review system.
