Bracco extended his season-long point-streak to six games with four multi-point performances last week as the Midwest Division leading Rangers earned three wins. The highlight of his week was on Thanksgiving Monday where he recorded a career-high five points including his first hat-trick earning first star honours in an 8-4 win over the Guelph Storm. On Friday night he scored a goal and two assists as third star of a 6-2 win over the Saginaw Spirit, then tallied three assists on Saturday in a 5-3 loss to the Owen Sound Attack. His week wrapped up Sunday with two helpers and third star recognition in a 3-2 road triumph over the Storm. The Rangers now have 13 points in nine games carrying a record of 6-2-0-1.
A 19-year-old from Freeport, NY, Bracco is playing in his second OHL season with the Rangers and was a second round pick of the Leafs in the 2015 NHL Draft. He is currently tied for third in OHL scoring with 17 points in six games after scoring 21 goals and 43 assists for 64 points in 49 games last season.
Also considered for the award this week was Bracco’s teammate Adam Mascherin, a Florida Panthers prospect who produced 12 points in four games including three goals and nine assists. New Jersey Devils prospect Michael McLeod recorded eight points in three games including one goal and seven assists. In goal, Montreal Canadiens prospect Michael McNiven of the Owen Sound Attack went 2-0-0-0 with a shutout victory posting a goals-against-average of 1.50 and save percentage of .946.
