Roman Pucek commits to Greyhounds


Sault Ste. Marie, ON – The Soo Greyhounds have received a commitment from 2018 first round (58th overall) CHL Import Draft selection Roman Pucek.

An 18-year-old left-winger from Vsetin, Czech Republic, Pucek joins the Hounds after registering 73 points (26-47–73) in 41 games with HC Vsetin of the Czech Republic’s Under-18 circuit last season. He also appeared in four games of professional hockey with VHK Vsetin of the Czech Elite League, recording a pair of assists in the process.

The 6-foot-2, 168Ib. Pucek recently attended Training Camp with the Toronto Maple Leafs and was re-assigned to the Greyhounds on Sunday.

Pucek is the latest in a long line of Czech players to have suited up for the Greyhounds with names that include Jiri Tlusty, David Kuchejda, Josef Vasicek and Petr Taticek.
