Saturday Highlights: Moore’s winner gives Bulldogs 2-0 series lead

Niagara IceDogs goaltender Stephen Dhillon made 47 saves but couldn’t stop the 50th shot of the night as Ryan Moore (4) scored on a goalmouth scramble to give the host Hamilton Bulldogs a 2-0 series lead 6:25 into overtime. The 3-2 Hamilton win came before an energetic crowd of 6,021 at FirstOntario Centre as the Bulldogs carried the play throughout the night. Matthew Strome (3) and Brandon Saigeon (8) added power play goals while Robert Thomas had two assists. The Bulldogs outshot the IceDogs 50-23. Sam Miletic (4) scored the first period power play goal for Niagara while Matthew Philip (3) tied the score 5:16 into the third period to force OT. The teams combined for 16 power plays in an intense Eastern Conference matchup. Game 3 of the series goes Monday night in St. Catharines.
