Sting’s Sinclair Inks Multi-Year Extension

Sarnia Sting

SARNIA, ON – The Sarnia Sting announced today that Co-owners Derian Hatcher & David Legwand have reached an agreement on a multi-year extension with General Manager, Nick Sinclair.

Sinclair, who is entering his ninth season with the Sarnia Sting, will embark on his fourth campaign as General Manager of the Hockey Club. He was originally hired as a regional area scout during his first year with the team in 2009 and was promoted to Director of Player Personnel after just two seasons. Prior to being named General Manager, Nick was serving as the club’s Head Scout while still maintaining his role as Director of Player Personnel.

During his tenure as General Manager, the club has posted an overall record of 102-81-15-6 including a franchise record setting season just a year ago. In 2015-16, the club set an all-time high in wins with 42 and points with 91.

Head Coach and Co-owner, Derian Hatcher comments on today’s announcement, “Nick has done a great job here in Sarnia and has certainly earned this extension. Similar to David and myself, he is passionate about growing this program and bringing an OHL Championship to this city and to our fan base. We’ve taken big steps over the last couple of years and look forward to building a consistently competitive team with Nick at the helm.”

Co-owner, David Legwand adds, “We’re excited to say the least. Nick has an outstanding eye for talent and his work ethic is second-to-none. He, Derian and I share a vision for where we’d like to see this team headed and work very well together. As Derian said, we have our sights set on capturing an OHL Championship here in Sarnia and fostering a winning culture for our loyal fan base and community partners.”
