Guelph Storm

GUELPH, ON – The Guelph Storm Hockey Club announced today that Dmitri Samorukov’s IIHF transfer has been approved and will be joining the Storm for the 2016-17 season.

The six-foot, 165-pound defenseman spent the 2015-16 season with CSKA Moskva U17, registering four goals and 12 assists for 16 points in 28 games played.

“We are very pleased to have received the release for Dmitri Samorukov, allowing him to play for the Storm,” said Storm GM Mike Kelly. “We would like to thank CSKA Moscow for their cooperation in giving us the opportunity to further develop Dmitri’s considerable talents. Dmitri is expected to arrive in Guelph a couple days prior to the opening of training camp.”

Selected in the first round of the 2016 CHL Import Draft, Samorukov has plenty of international experience and is currently representing Russia at the Ivan Hlinka Tournament registering four penalty minutes through his first two games on his quest for gold.
