OWEN SOUND 4 – SAULT STE. MARIE 1 – SSM leads series 2-1
Down 2-0 after a pair of road losses, the Owen Sound Attack came out with authority on home ice, outshooting the Soo Greyhounds 41-23 to take a 4-1 victory. Jacob Friend (1) opened the scoring 5:49 into the first period before Kevin Hancock (5), Sean Durzi (1) and Petrus Palmu (8) added markers. Boris Katchouk (6) provided the lone goal for the Greyhounds while Joseph Raaymakers made 37 saves in defeat. Rookie forward Maksim Sushko had a pair of assists for Owen Sound as the Attack get back in the series headed into Game 4 back on home ice on Tuesday.
PETERBOROUGH 4 – KINGSTON 1 – PBO leads series 2-0
Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Chris Paquette (2) led the way with a goal and an assist while Jonathan Ang pitched in with three helpers as the Peterborough Petes took a 2-0 series lead over the Kingston Frontenacs with a 4-1 win on home ice. Alex Black (1), Steven Lorentz (6) and Josh Coyle (4) also scored Peterborough goals as the Petes remain the only undefeated team in the OHL Playoffs. Peterborough outshot the Frontenacs 37-29 as both teams went 1-for-3 on the power play. Jeremy Helvig made 33 saves for Kingston while Ted Nichol (2) provided the lone goal for the Fronts. Kingston returns to home ice looking for a win in Game 3 on Tuesday.
MISSISSAUGA 7 – OSHAWA 3 – Series tied 1-1
The Mississauga Steelheads bounced back from a loss in Game 1, burying seven goals on 29 shots to defeat the visiting Oshawa Generals 7-3. Jacob Cascagnette (4) scored the game winner midway through the second period while Nicolas Hague had three assists. Ryan McLeod (1), Trent Fox (3), Owen Tippett (2), Spencer Watson (5), Brendan Harrogate (1) and Matthew Titus (1) also had goals for the Trout while Matthew Mancina made 28 saves. Renars Krastenbergs (4), Domenic Commisso (2) and Eric Henderson (1) responded with goals for Oshawa in the loss. The series shifts to Oshawa for Game 3 on Tuesday.
