1ST STAR: PAVEL GOGOLEV (PETERBOROUGH PETES):
Third-year forward Pavel Gogolev had a goal and an assist to lead the Peterborough Petes to a 4-1 Thanksgiving victory in North Bay. ‘Gogo’ scored with 6:43 left in the opening period before tacking on an assist to help linemate Semyon Der-Arguchintsev put things out of reach in the third period. Gogolev, who attended training camp with the Detroit Red Wings, was passed over in the 2018 NHL Draft but has put up four points (2-2–4) over his first seven games this season. He was the eighth overall pick of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.
2ND STAR: NICK ISAACSON (PETERBOROUGH PETES):
Nick Isaacson registered a pair of assists to record his third multi-point game of the season. The 19-year-old picked up primary helpers on goals by Chad Denault and Adam Timleck, bringing his season total to eight points (3-5–8) in seven games. His plus-11 plus/minus rating leads the OHL. A Mississauga Reps Minor Midget grad, Isaacson was Peterborough’s fifth round pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
3RD STAR: HUNTER JONES (PETERBOROUGH PETES):
Continuing his strong start to the season, 2019 NHL Draft prospect Hunter Jones stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced to improve to 5-2 with a 2.56 goals-against average an a .926 save percentage over seven contests. The Brantford, Ont. native has logged three straight starts with over 30 saves and continues to see plenty of minutes in the Peterborough crease. He was the Petes’ fifth round pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.
