Tuesday Highlights: Greyhounds too much for Sting

The Soo Greyhounds kept the goals coming on home ice, scoring six or more for the third straight game at GFL Memorial Gardens in a 6-2 win over the Sarnia Sting. Rookie forward Rory Kerins (7, 8) recorded his first multi-goal game of the season while first star Cole MacKay (24) finished with a goal and an assist. The OHL’s top scoring defenceman Mac Hollowell (22) also found the back of the net while Jacob LeGuerrier (5) and Keeghan Howdeshell (38) rounded out the Sault Ste. Marie scoring as the Hounds beat the Sting for the third time in four tries. Morgan Frost and Holden Wale both picked up a pair of assists and goaltender Matthew Villalta made 33 saves in his return to the crease. Sting captain Ryan McGregor (21, 22) replied with a pair of power play goals for Sarnia as the Sting were outshot 39-35. The West Division-leading Greyhounds improve to 37-12-6-1. Sarnia falls to 24-28-5-2, sitting seventh in the Western Conference.
