Tuesday Highlights: Rangers ride past IceDogs

Mario Culina and Colton Incze swapped saves in a goaltending duel, with OHL Goaltender of the Month Culina making 44 saves in a 3-1 Kitchener Rangers home ice win over visiting Niagara. Kitchener’s fifth straight win at home saw both Kole Sherwood (22) and Connor Bunnaman (20) register a goal and an assist while Jonathan Yantsis (4) scored the game winner 2:56 into the third period. The Rangers were outshot 45-39 but Culina’s fine play made the difference as the overage netminder improved to 8-0-0-0 in a Rangers uniform with a 1.50 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage. Incze made 36 saves in goal for Niagara as Sam Miletic (27) provided the lone goal for the IceDogs who suffered their fourth straight loss. The Rangers have won eight of their last 10, improving to 35-15-2-0 on the season.
