Tuesday Highlights: Rangers ride past Petes


The Kitchener Rangers shed a three-game slide, putting a winless weekend behind them with a 5-3 road win over the Peterborough Petes. Overage forward Chase Campbell (3, 4) scored twice, netting the second period game winner while goaltender Luke Richardson made 40 saves. Jonathan Yantsis (13), Justin MacPherson (1) and Greg Meireles (8) also scored for Kitchener while Rickard Hugg had a pair of assists. Peterborough rookie Erik Cermak (2, 3) was in on all three of his club’s goals with two goals and an assist. The Petes outshot the Rangers 43-25 and went 2-for-4 on the power play in the loss. The Rangers improve to 8-8-2-0 while Peterborough is 11-8-0-0.
