Tuesday Highlights: Rangers ride past Sting


For the second time in a week the Kitchener Rangers got the better of the Sarnia Sting on home ice, scoring a 5-2 victory as Rickard Hugg (6), Adam Liska (12) and Nick McHugh (11) all had a goal and an assist. The win gives the Rangers their first Midwest Division title since 2008 as they improve to 42-19-2-0. Sarnia led 2-1 until the Rangers turned things around at the midway point of the second period. Givani Smith (17) tied things at two before Connor Bunnaman (27) put the Rangers ahead for good with four minutes left in the second. Greg Meireles had a pair of assists while goaltender Mario Culina turned aside 27 shots. Jordan Kyrou (37) and Jonathan Ang (25) scored Sarnia goals while Justin Fazio made 42 saves. Kitchener took the shooting column 47-29.
