Wednesday Highlights: Howdeshell, Studenic lead the way in Game 4

 

SAULT STE. MARIE 5 – OWEN SOUND 2
(Series tied 2-2)

Keeghan Howdeshell (4, 5) scored twice to lead the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds to a 5-2 road win in Owen Sound. The Hounds knot the series at two wins apiece as goaltender Matthew Villalta made 37 saves while other goals came off the sticks of Boris Katchouk (8), Taylor Raddysh (6) and Conor Timmins (3). The Hounds outshot the Attack 41-39 as Mac Hollowell, Tim Gettinger and Morgan Frost each had two assists. Kevin Hancock (6) and Ethan Szypula (3) scored Owen Sound goals as the Attack suffered their first home loss of the playoffs. Game 5 of the series goes Friday night in Sault Ste. Marie.

HAMILTON 4 – NIAGARA 2
(HAM leads series 3-1)

New Jersey Devils prospect Marian Studenic (1, 2) scored the game winner 2:54 into the third period to push the Hamilton Bulldogs past the Niagara IceDogs 4-2 on the road. Studenic scored twice to help the Bulldogs take a 3-1 series lead as Isaac Nurse (6) and Robert Thomas (5) also lit the lamp. Detroit Red Wings prospect Kaden Fulcher made 24 saves in the Hamilton crease while Dallas Stars pick Nicholas Caamano chipped in with three assists. Kirill Maksimov (4) and Justin MacPherson (2) picked up goals for Niagara as the IceDogs find themselves on the ropes headed into a Thursday night Game 5 in Hamilton.
