Knights win; even Championship Series

Ryan Rupert scored a hat-trick to lead the London Knights to a 5-3 win over the Niagara IceDogs in Game 2 of the Rogers OHL Championship Series Saturday night.

The series is now tied 1-1 with Game 3 set for Monday night in London.

Andrew Agozzino put the IceDogs ahead 2-0 with a pair of power play goals in the first period and later completed his hat-trick as first star of the game.

Knights’ captain Jarred Tinordi scored a late first period goal before Rupert netted his first two goals early in the second period to put London ahead 3-2.

Olli Maatta scored his sixth goal of the playoffs midway through the second period which held as the game-winner. 

The IceDogs outshot the Knights 42-24 with Michael Houser earning the win in goal with third star honours.
