In Sudbury, Bryan Cameron scored a powerplay goal early in the third period to lift the Barrie Colts to a 2-1 win over the Sudbury Wolves in one of three opening round playoff games on Saturday.
The Colts lead the series 2-0 and host Game 3 on Sunday.
Alexander Burmistrov opened the scoring for the Colts with a powerplay marker early in the first period before John McFarland tied the game on a powerplay late in the first period.
The Colts were two-for-three on the powerplay while the Wolves scored once on six powerplay chances.
Peter Di Salvo was the first star after stopping 20 of 21 shots in the Colts net. Andrew Loverock made 25 saves for the Wolves.
Plymouth Whalers 5, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 2
In Plymouth, Phil McRae scored the winning goal and added an assist to help the Whalers to a 5-2 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds that tied their Western Conference series at one game each.
James Livingston, AJ Jenks, Tyler Seguin and Joe Gaynor - into an empty net - also scored and Ryan Hayes added a pair of assists in the win.
Jake Carrick and Vern Cooper scored for the Greyhounds.
Matt Hackett got the start for the Whalers and gave up one goal on 12 shots before giving way to Scott Wedgewood, who allowed one goal on 14 shots in two periods of work.
Robin Lehner went the distance for the Greyhounds, allowing four goals on 47 shots.
Saginaw Spirit 3, Kitchener Rangers 1
In Saginaw, Anthony Camara and Jordan Skellett scored second period goals to pace the Spirit to a 3-1 win over the Kitchener Rangers to even their Western Conference playoff series at one game each.
Barry Sanderson added an empty netter in the final minute of the game while Edward Pasquale stopped 24 of 25 shots to earn first star honours.
Michael Catenacci replied for the Rangers with a short-handed effort in the third period.
Brandon Maxwell made 28 saves in the loss.
