Raycroft (pictured), a graduate of the Sudbury Wolves and Kingston Frontenacs, won the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL's rookie of the year. Raycroft posted a 29-18-9 record, along with a 2.05 goals against average and .926 save percentage in 57 games with the Boston Bruins. He had the sixth best GAA and fifth best save percentage among all NHL goaltenders. He is the first OHL graduate to win the award since Berard, who was the NHL rookie of the year in 1997.
Draper won the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the best defensive forward. The for Ottawa 67's star posted a +22 rating and was eighth in the NHL in face-off winning percentage (56.9%). He also scored a career-high 24 goals and 40 points in 67 games. Draper is the fifth OHL graduate in the past 10 years to win the award following teammate Steve Yzerman (2000), Michael Peca (1997 and 2002) and Ron Francis (1995).
Berard won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy for perservence, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey. Berard, who was the first overall pick in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft after two standout seasons with the Detroit Jr. Red Wings (now Plymouth Whalers). Berard missed the entire 2000-01 season after suffering an eye injury while playing with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He returned to the NHL in 2001 and scored 13 goals and 47 points in 58 games with the Chicago Blackhawks this past season. OHL graduates Yzerman, Adam Graves and Gary Roberts are among the former winners of the award.
Nash was a co-winner of the Maurice Richard Trophy as the NHL's goal scoring leader. Nash, a former London Knights star and the first overall pick in the 2002 NHL draft, tied Jarome Iginla of the Calgary Flames and Ilya Kovalchuk of the Atlanta Thrashers with 41 goals.
