Tyler Seguin (pictured) of the Plymouth Whalers and John McFarland of the Sudbury Wolves were among the first four players released from Canada's final selection camp for the World Junior Championships on Tuesday in Regina, SK.
Seguin and McFarland are both top rated prospects for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and are likely to get another shot at cracking Team Canada's roster next year.
Nicolas Deslauriers of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and Brandon Gormley of the Moncton Wildcats were also released from the camp, which continues today with a game against a team of Canadian University players.
31 players remain in camp and it's expected that the final roster of 22 players will be announced on Wednesday.
Canada is looking for its sixth straight gold medal at the World Junior Championships and opens the tournament on Boxing Day against Latvia in Saskatoon.
