2018 NHL Draft Profile: Evan Bouchard

Evan Bouchard of the London Knights is the top-ranked defenceman in North America on NHL Central Scouting’s Final Draft Rankings. The fourth-ranked skater on the list, Bouchard scored 25 goals and led the London Knights with 87 points this season. He earned Jim Gregory Player of the Game honours for Team Cherry at the 2018 Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, recording four assists in a 7-4 win.

Bouchard describes himself as: Calm, Positive, Offensive, Intelligent, Competitive.

NHL Central Scouting says: Highly intelligent defender with exceptional vision and offensive instincts – reads the play extremely well – passing ability allows him to be a constant threat in his team’s transition game – one of the top offensive defenseman in the CHL – magician-like when quarterbacking the power play – effective using a variety of shots; has an accurate one timer that needs to be respected – plays a prop style game with composure.
