Oshawa Generals 19-year-old rookie Matthieu Franche found the back of the net for the first time in his OHL career, doing so in his 20th game of the season. The 6-foot-4, 197Ib blueliner put a shot past Ottawa’s Cedrick Andree 5:07 into the third period of Sunday’s 5-2 loss, getting help from Serron Noel to score his milestone marker. Franche was a ninth round pick of the Generals back in 2015 before spending the past three seasons in the CCHL. In 61 games with the Smiths Falls Bears Jr. A club last season, Franche recorded 13 points (3-10–13). The Orleans, Ont. native has two points (1-1–2) over 20 games with the Generals this season.
