Rookie defenceman Michael Bianconi took advantage of a Soo Greyhounds miscue, walking in off the point to rip a wrister over the shoulder of Ethan Taylor to help the Flint Firebirds defeat the West Division leaders 6-4 on home ice. Bianconi’s first came 6:45 into the first period as the Firebirds won their second straight on home ice. The 16-year-old from Toronto, Ont. has three points (1-2–3) over 33 games this season after being Flint’s third round pick in 2018. He is a graduate of the defending OHL Cup champion Toronto Jr. Canadiens.
