Nick Wong (6, 7) continued his hot start to the season on Sunday night in Oshawa, scoring twice as the Generals defeated the London Knights 5-4 in their home opener. Wong scored the game winner with 1:36 remaining in the second period as the Gennies improved to 3-2-0-0. Wong, Alex Di Carlo (2) and Serron Noel (5) scored first period goals to put Oshawa up 3-1 before the Knights charged back with three straight second period power play markers from Robert Thomas (1) and Max Jones (1, 2). Renars Krastenbergs (2) knotted the score at four with 2:51 left in the second frame before Wong scored his game winner off an Allan McShane feed through the slot. The Generals outshot the Knights 31-21 and went 3-for-8 on the power play to London’s 3-for-5 mark. Cole Tymkin (1) also scored for the Knights while 2018 NHL Draft prospect Evan Bouchard picked up three assists. The Knights are 1-4-0-0 through their first five games of the season.
