The Niagara IceDogs made the most of a 2017 OHL Priority Selection where the club carried just three picks inside the top-100.

Newly appointed General Manager Joey Burke chose a pair of forwards and a defenceman in the first three rounds with all three players already announcing their commitment to join the Eastern Conference club that was among the league’s youngest in 2016-17.

Leading the IceDogs’ 2017 draft class is fifth overall pick Philip Tomasino, a centre from the Mississauga Rebels, followed by Toronto Marlboros blueliner Billy Constantinou chosen 36th overall, and winger Ian Martin of the Ajax-Pickering Raiders taken with the 51st pick.

Tomasino, Martin, and sixth round goaltender Christian Sbaraglia will represent the IceDogs at Hockey Canada’s National Men’s Summer Under-17 Selection Camp in Calgary on July 22nd.
